Money Hoarder
Mathew 6:19, "Do not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal."
Proverb 18:11, "The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own mind."
All consultants (advisers) will recommend their clients to set aside continually a percentage of their income to be saved/stored in the bank. not just a financial planning ahead, but also as a way to invest money. there's nothing wrong with that.
But we need to consider that saving as financial planning, or saving as a way to hoard money/wealth for personal gain, are two different things. The difference of the two is the position of money in human heart. The characteristic or manifestation of heart that loves money is holding money more than just due. And someone like that has bring himself away from God. Why? Because his sense of security lies in the amount of money not in God. (When his amount of money increases, his sense of security increases also)
One of the things we have noticed in these days is the motivation of our hearts when saving. Because if without conscious by saving money we hoard money, at the same time, we also increase our love of money. And, we have positioned our hearts firmly on earth (not in heaven).
Luke 12:34, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
(When the heart has been firmly 'stuck' on earth, can we go to heaven?)
